Privacy Policy

This policy describes how NAS Email Collector handles information from Gmail accounts that have explicitly authorized the application.

Purpose and scope

NAS Email Collector is a private utility used by its owner to create a searchable email archive for recovery and record retention. It is not offered to the general public.

Information accessed

With an account owner's authorization, the application may access email messages, message headers, sender and recipient information, timestamps, labels, attachments, and other message metadata available through the Gmail read-only permission.

How information is used

Gmail information is used only to retrieve, organize, index, search, preserve, and recover the authorized account owner's email archive. The application does not use Gmail data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.

Read-only limitation

The application cannot send email, create drafts, modify messages, alter labels, move messages, or delete content from Gmail.

Storage and security

Archived information and authorization credentials are stored on private, owner-controlled systems. Access is limited to the application owner and authorized account owners. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect the archive from unauthorized access.

Sharing and transfer

Gmail information is not sold, rented, used for advertising, or shared with unrelated third parties. It is transferred only as necessary to operate the authorized archival process or when required by law.

Use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

Archived information is retained until the account owner requests deletion or removes it from the private archive. Deleting information from the archive does not delete the original message from Gmail.

Revoking access

An account owner may revoke the application's Gmail access at any time from the security or connected-app settings in their Google Account. Revocation stops future collection but does not automatically delete information already archived.
